Jeroen van Overloop

Jeroen has studied maritime law at the University of Ghent.

He has been working as a maritime policy advisor, specifically in the field of safety of navigation in Belgian waters and in the vicinity of fixed objects like wind farms. For this, he has been one of the developers of the first Belgian MSP and now the revision of the current MSP.

The last few years he has been very much involved in maritime security for Belgian Flagged vessels and Belgian owned vessels, dealing with piracy, terrorist attacks and other threats around the world.  

Since 2006 he been a Belgian representative at IMO in several committees and subcommittees, such as Maritime Safety Committee and Navigation, Communication Search and Rescue subcommittee.
